Service Specialist (SRVSPC) / Technicians
NAVCO is an employee-owned company recognized for its innovation and exceptional service in the security integration industry. The Service Specialist is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining high-tech CCTV surveillance, access control, and intrusion systems at customer sites, focusing on customer communication and technical expertise.
Responsibilities
Respond to daily service calls and troubleshoot system issues to restore full functionality
Perform preventative maintenance on security systems, including cleaning monitors and adjusting camera focus and depth of field
Diagnose and repair non-operational system components (hardware, software, devices, wiring)
Configure and troubleshoot CCTV, intrusion, and access control systems
Support IP-based systems, including programming IP addresses, subnetting, wire testing, and replacing connectors
Use diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeter) to test electrical components and verify system performance
Communicate professionally with customers regarding findings, solutions, and recommendations
Document service work accurately and thoroughly in work orders and reports
Respond to urgent service requests as directed to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction
Follow all safety standards and company procedures
Qualification
Required
3–5+ years of experience in a service-based or technical field
Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-first mindset
Coachable, safety-focused, and aligned with NAVCO's core values
Reliable, professional, and able to work independently
A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required
Security Systems: CCTV, Intrusion, and Access Control troubleshooting and configuration
Networking: IP programming, subnetting, wire testing, connector replacement, and basic networking commands
Electronics: Proficient with multimeter use; understanding of voltage, current, resistance (Ohm's Law), and relay operation
Ability to read and interpret instructions, operating procedures, and correspondence
Ability to write routine reports and documentation
Strong verbal communication, presentation skills, and professional phone etiquette
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
Ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages
Regularly required to talk or listen
Frequently required to sit; occasionally required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Use hands to handle tools, equipment, and controls
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
