Responsibilities

Manage, provide upkeep, and develop automated reports and databases using programming languages such as VBA and SQL, as well as manage and oversee Historian databases at various facilities
Troubleshoot/resolve hardware and process issues
Optimize process controls/systems to maximize facility safety, efficiency and productivity
Ensure conformance of process control hardware and processes with the requirements of appropriate facility Process Hazard Analyses and safe operations documentation
Properly apply Process Safety Management standards, including Management of Change procedures to all process control hardware and process improvements
Review and approve scope of all work performed by third-party original equipment manufacturers, industrial control systems consultants, contractors and integrators to ensure safe, efficient performance of all work
Update facility standard operating procedures pursuant to updates/improvements in process control systems
Monitor performance of industrial process control systems, including but not limited to fuel processing equipment, vapor processing equipment, loading/unloading/blending equipment, SCADA systems, etc. and make adjustments to operating parameters as necessary to maintain safe, efficient Plant operations, maximize production and produce products that conform to applicable specifications/regulations
Utilize the industrial control system to capture, log and report facility performance data such as key performance indicators (KPIs) as directed by management
Plan process systems upgrades and preventative maintenance to ensure proper system performance, maintain third-party warranties/support and system cybersecurity
Ensure strict adherence to safe work practices, programs and permits for all employees, visitors, and contractors, including, but not limited practices, programs and permits pertaining to safe work, hot work, confined space entry/work, lockout/tagout, hydrogen sulfide monitoring/training, maintenance and use of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), fire monitoring, etc
Respond in a timely manner to all facility issues that adversely impact safe, efficient Plant operations, regulatory compliance or otherwise require the attention of an Industrial Controls Engineer
Ensure timely third-party inspection and repair of process control equipment
Model behaviors that support the company's common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
Ensure all activities comply with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
Complete other duties as assigned by management

Required

BS in Engineering, Materials Science or Physics or Equivalent Technical Background required
2-4 years of industrial controls experience required
Advanced knowledge in industrial process control systems and logic
Process Safety Management experience required
Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills
Demonstrated ability to apply mathematics, chemistry and process logic in an industrial process/production environment
Attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to take on and off a SCBA
Able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
Lift up to 75 pounds
Use heavy tools (e.g. pipe wrench)
Able to pass pulmonary fitness test, SCBA mask fit test and physical
Able to see and use both hands for operating machinery and packing products
Able to stoop, bend, and reach
Available to work long hours as needed

Preferred

BS in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred
