Personal Injury Paralegal

Responsibilities
Responsible for documenting all actions and communication in the client’s case file
Interact with clients providing case status, assistance with medical treatment, collecting case information, and education as to the personal injury claim process
Build sustainable relationships and engage clients by going the extra mile
Collect, examine, and organize evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation
Review medical records and bills
Draft demands
Verify lien amounts
Coordinate with the team to ensure customer requests are handled appropriately and in a timely fashion
Prepare, review, and edit legal documents such as discovery, demand letters, correspondence, and pleadings
Manage scheduling with clients, medical providers, witnesses, and court proceedings
Handle case preparation and filing, including organizing and collecting relevant records
Maintain case files, attorney notebooks, databases, spreadsheets, and update case management software
Draft correspondence, legal documents, and mediation statements
Oversee the service of process and resolve related issues
Process third-party invoices
Assist attorneys with pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and the preparation of clients and witnesses for deposition
Support trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and witness coordination
Qualification
Required
Applicants must reside in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, or Virginia
High school diploma or equivalent required; Paralegal certificate or degree preferred
Minimum of one year of personal injury experience in a paralegal or similar role
Minimum of 2 years of plaintiff's personal injury litigation experience required to be considered for a Litigation Paralegal position
Familiarity with South Carolina and federal court procedures and rules
Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred
Paralegal certificate or degree preferred
Litify experience is a plus
