Responsibilities
Prepare and review individual income tax returns (primarily Form 1040 and related schedules)
Conduct detailed review of client source documents and proactively follow up on missing or unclear information
Research federal and state tax regulations and apply current tax law to client situations
Assist with basic business, fiduciary, and other tax filings as experience allows
Provide tax planning strategies and projections for individuals and small business owners
Communicate clearly and professionally with clients regarding filings, outcomes, and recommendations
Maintain accurate and well-organized working papers and supporting documentation
Collaborate with partners and team members to manage workflow during tax season and beyond
Stay current on tax law changes and contribute to continuous process improvement
Qualification
Required
Active CPA license required
Several years of hands-on experience preparing individual income tax returns in a public accounting or similar environment
Strong knowledge of federal and Iowa individual income tax regulations
Proficiency with tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite
High level of attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines during peak periods
Strong ethical standards and professional integrity
