Regional Sales Associate

Next Step Energy Solutions is a private equity–backed sustainability company delivering complex, high-yield retrofit solutions at scale. They are seeking a motivated Regional Sales Associate to support continued growth in key U.S. markets, focusing on building long-term relationships and driving sales in sustainability-focused enterprise solutions.

Responsibilities

Generate and qualify new business opportunities through proactive outreach and relationship development
Build and maintain long-term relationships with commercial real estate owners, operators, and decision-makers
Deliver polished, data-driven presentations that clearly communicate financial and environmental ROI
Own the full sales cycle from initial prospecting through contract execution
Develop strong technical knowledge of LED lighting systems, controls, and sustainability solutions
Prepare accurate proposals, scopes of work, and sales documentation
Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing and Operations to ensure seamless handoff and project execution
Monitor market conditions, industry trends, and competitor activity to inform sales strategy
Contribute to a high-performance, collaborative team culture

Required

3+ years of proven sales experience, preferably within lighting, construction, energy, or commercial real estate
Strong entrepreneurial mindset with high self-motivation and accountability
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities
Demonstrated success managing the full sales cycle independently
Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to preparation and execution excellence
High ethical standards and professional integrity
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
Willingness to travel regularly to meet customers face-to-face
Candidates should be based in or near one of the following markets: Texas (Houston, Dallas, or Austin), Nashville, TN, or Denver, CO
