Quality Inspector

Responsibilities
Perform independent visual, mechanic, dimensional, and functional inspections of parts, assemblies, and finished products
Perform in-process, final, and receiving inspections on directed parts, assemblies, and subassemblies
Verify dimensions, tolerances, materials, finishes, and configurations per engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
Properly tag, label, and segregate nonconforming material
Ensure proper identification, traceability, and documentation of parts and materials
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T to determine inspection requirements
Use a wide range of precision measuring instruments (i.e. calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, CMMs as applicable)
Complete and review inspection documentation, nonconformance reports, and inspection records
Identify, document, and communicate quality issues and trends to other relative quality and production teams (including, but not limited to Leads, P1s, Quality Engineers, management, etc.)
Review, validate, verify and perform First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102
Ensure compliance with AS9100, FAA, customer, and internal quality requirements
Maintain inspection records in accordance with regulatory and company retention requirements
Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits
Assist with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
Provide guidance/assistance to Inspector B personnel as needed
Accurately document and report inspection results, nonconformances, and corrective actions in quality systems
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Participate and successfully complete training related to aerospace quality standards and inspection methods
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
Must be 18 years or older
0–2 years of manufacturing or quality-related experience
Entry-level candidates with production, assembly, or machining experience encouraged to apply
Ability to stand and perform work duties for an extended period of time and perform hands-on inspection tasks as required/assigned
Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
Ability to work in various temperatures (e.g. warm, hot, cold, freezing) to complete warehouse tasks
Ability to work in an environment that includes dust and other debris
Must be able to successfully complete all medical surveillance requirements
Preferred
Technical school or vocational training in manufacturing, machining, or aerospace preferred
Strong attention to detail and sound judgment in quality decisions
Knowledge of aerospace quality standards, GD&T, and inspection methods, preferred
Knowledge and/or ability to learn and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T
Knowledge and/or ability to learn in precision measuring and inspection techniques
Working knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, and aerospace quality requirements
Ability to independently identify nonconformances and recommend corrective actions
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Must be able to successfully complete all job-related eligible certifications and training requirements as assigned/directed
Must be able to obtain and maintain certified inspector operator certification
Basic computer and data entry skills
Attention to detail and willingness to learn
Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings and specifications
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes
Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work with supervision and as part of a team
