Responsibilities
Plan, execute, and lead operational, financial, and compliance audits across various business units
Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements
Lead and support the company's SOX 404 compliance efforts, including testing key controls and working closely with external auditors
Assess risks and develop audit programs and procedures to test controls and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations
Prepare clear, concise, and well-organized audit reports, presenting findings and recommendations to management
Monitor and follow up on management’s implementation of audit recommendations
Provide insight and recommendations for process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risk
Assist in fraud investigations, special projects, and advisory engagements as requested by senior management
Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, regulatory changes, and audit best practices, especially relevant to public companies and the real estate sector
Qualification
Required
3-5+ years of financial or operational audit experience required
Bachelors in accounting or business administration required
Strong understanding of internal controls
Preferred
CPA, CISA, or CIA strongly preferred
Experience with Big 4 (or Top 7) strongly preferred
Experience working at a publicly traded company strongly preferred
