They are seeking a Short-Term Championship Office Intern to assist in the administrative management of the 2026 U.S. Open Championship, providing valuable experience in sports management and event coordination.

Responsibilities
Answering incoming e-mails and phone calls to the 2026 U.S. Open championship office
Preparing mailings, opening incoming mail, handling UPS shipping/receiving
Maintain all necessary office supplies and order items as necessary. May require local trips to pick-up items as needed
Assist in taking and distributing notes for meetings as necessary
Assisting with the creation of various correspondence, including emails, presentations, and newsletters
Organize and facilitate printing needs with designated vendors as necessary
Help orchestrate volunteer training and credential distribution, including organizing training session materials, credential packets and presenting presentations with necessary championship information
Manage the response to concerns, questions, and requests of volunteers before, during, and post championship
Assist with the training and onboarding of assigned Committee Chairs with tasks such as volunteer scheduling, site visits & walk-throughs, and overall management of their designated volunteer committees
Assist with setting up, overseeing, and tearing down volunteer areas on championship grounds
Qualification
Required
Ability to work long and strenuous hours (40 – 100+ hour work week)
Effective communication with a wide variety of individuals involved in a national championship
Resourceful, presentable, courteous, friendly, and organized
Good follow-up skills and ability to handle issues quickly and calmly
Team first mentality
Ability to work independently and support the team
Ability to work with Microsoft Office software – above-average knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, & PowerPoint
Ability to prepare presentations to include PowerPoint and printed materials
Demonstrated ability to follow and execute detailed plans – able to anticipate and analyze problems and provide logical solutions
Ability to work well under pressure
