Responsibilities
Serve as Tier-2/Tier-3 escalation point for customer issues related to JumboSwitch hardware and software
Diagnose, replicate, and resolve complex system problems in switching, multiplexing, and networking environments
Provide root cause analysis and recommend preventive actions
Develop and maintain in-depth technical knowledge of JumboSwitch architecture, modules, protocols, and configurations
Stay updated with new releases, patches, and hardware upgrades
Deliver technical training to junior engineers and customers
Act as a trusted advisor for enterprise, utility, transportation, and government customers
Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Document solutions in knowledge base articles and customer reports
Work closely with engineering, QA, and product management teams to escalate product defects and propose improvements
Support customer acceptance testing, field trials, and deployments
Qualification
Required
5–8+ years in technical support or network engineering, preferably in telecommunications or mission-critical infrastructure
Strong background with Ethernet switching, TDM/SONET/SDH, serial data communications, and legacy-to-IP migration
Proficiency in Layer 2/3 networking (VLANs, MPLS, QoS, routing protocols)
Hands-on experience with serial interfaces (RS-232, RS-485, T1/E1)
US citizen or Permanent Resident
Bachelor's (Required)
Ability to Commute: Irvine, CA 92614 (Required)
Preferred
Telecommunication: 5 years
Computer networking: 5 years
Familiarity with SCADA communications and utility/transportation network protocols is highly desirable
