Mid LevelCummins Inc. is seeking a talented Machining Engineer for their Seymour Machining Center in Seymour, IN. In this role, you will support efficient manufacturing processes, collaborate on tooling and part selection, and contribute to product and performance improvements.

Responsibilities
Assist in planning and implementing machining processes that improve productivity and meet product specifications
Work with engineering teams to identify necessary parts and tools, reducing setup times and optimizing changeovers
Analyze product issues and recommend enhancements to improve quality and operational efficiency
Assist in the design, development, and evaluation of technical products and systems to ensure alignment with manufacturing goals
Conduct engineering design assessments and document findings, recommending design alterations to enhance quality and reliability
Utilize lean and continuous improvement tools to increase equipment availability and capability across the plant
Work closely with engineering, operations, and supplier teams to ensure seamless integration of machining processes
Contribute to the adoption of innovative machining solutions that improve efficiency and reduce operational risk

Maintain flexibility in scheduling to support production needs, including second-shift coverage, Work schedule: 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (Tue–Fri, approx. 5 PM–3 AM) and occasional additional shifts as needed
Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills while driving continuous improvement in machining processes
Interpret and apply 2D part drawings with an understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Apply foundational knowledge of part machining and fixturing to support production requirements
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Quality, HSE, and Materials, to achieve plant goals and improvement initiatives
Lead and participate in safety investigations and improvement projects to ensure a safe working environment
Provide training and guidance to AMA's, interns/co-ops, or School-to-Work students to support skill development and team performance
Communicate clearly and professionally across all levels of the organization, fostering strong interpersonal relationships
