Senior COIR Analyst

The University of Iowa Research is seeking a Senior COIR Analyst to provide developmental and administrative assistance for the conflict of interest in research program. The role involves designing, planning, and conducting activities to support compliance with conflict of interest in research requirements.

Research

Responsibilities

Developing and coordinating procedures and programs to enhance investigator compliance with disclosure processes
Attending Conflict of Interest in Research Committee (CIRC) meetings to document discussions and management plan conditions
Providing educational content for the research community

Required

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in preparing and submitting or reviewing IRB application materials and Informed Consent Documents is required
Knowledge of University/Higher Education and federal regulations regarding the conflicts of interest in research
Evidence of strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship management skills, including the ability to interact with clients on a broad range of sensitive topics is required
Extensive experience with Microsoft Office software, the internet and cloud-based systems
Experience (typically 6 months – 1 year) of current and relevant administrative or program coordination experience
Demonstrates a working proficiency in the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner
Understands the necessity and value of accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to process information with high levels of accuracy at a working level of proficiency
Ability to meet or exceed customer service needs and expectations and provide excellent customer service at a working level of proficiency

Preferred

Reasonably related (3-4 years) research program coordination, administrative, lead projects and/or supervisory experience
Demonstrated knowledge (3-5 years) of conflict of interest in research regulations
Working experience with human subjects and/or basic science research including regulatory compliance processes
Working knowledge of University policies, procedures, and regulations
Working experience with electronic database application/s
