Admin Associate II - Central Office

The North Carolina Department of Public Safety is dedicated to safeguarding the lives and property of the people of North Carolina. They are seeking an Administrative Associate II to provide administrative support to the Director of Facilities and Programs with Juvenile Justice, managing workflow and operations, coordinating tasks, and overseeing the Director's calendar.

Responsibilities

Managing workflow and operations for the Director's Office
Coordinating tasks or duties with other staff within the organization
Communicating consistently with Upper Management, program staff, representatives of other State agencies/universities, elected/appointed representatives, and the public
Overseeing the Director's calendar and schedule to ensure efficient time allocation and prioritization
Preparing reports, executive summaries, and other items for the Director
Arranging procurement of supplies and materials for the Director's office
Arranging and coordinating travel logistics for the Director
Composing correspondence and other products as needed independently
Opening official correspondence and reviewing incoming documents for completeness/correctness prior to forwarding for signature/approval
Performing other additional duties, as needed, assigned by the Director

Required

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
All work history and education (including accurate dates of employment/attendance) must be documented on the application
Supplemental Questions are also a required part of the application: answers must reference education or work experience listed on the application

Preferred

Demonstrated experience with maintaining confidential information
Demonstrated experience working with spreadsheets to track information and/or generate reports
Demonstrated experience with composing correspondence materials
Demonstrated experience with managing workflow and/or operations for an executive level position within a large organization
Demonstrated experience communicating with staff at all levels to provide expectations that align with agency core values
