Responsibilities
Building and developing a team of 10-15 mechanical engineers this year
Establishing engineering processes, design standards, and documentation practices that scale
Leading mechanical design for custom switchboard enclosures, assemblies, and components
Partnering with the electrical engineering team in New Jersey to ensure seamless integration
Oversee mechanical design optimized for manufacturability, durability, and cost-effectiveness
Recruit, hire, and develop primarily entry-level mechanical engineers into high-performing contributors
Establish training programs, mentorship frameworks, and engineering standards from scratch
Drive innovation in material selection, thermal management, and structural integrity for custom, engineer-to-order projects
Ensure compliance with UL, IEC, and ANSI standards
Work hand-in-hand with manufacturing as the Oklahoma facility ramps production
Qualification
Required
10+ years in mechanical engineering with a background in switchboards, switchgear, or power distribution equipment
4+ years in engineering leadership/managerial roles
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's a plus)
Strong mentoring and training capabilities - proven ability to build a team and develop junior engineers
Preferred
PE certification
FEA/CFD experience
Lean/Six Sigma background
ISO certification experience
Custom/engineer-to-order manufacturing experience
