Product Repair Technician I

Responsibilities

Inspect, repair, and update components on electronic or electromechanical products
Verify components meet current specifications
Assist with customer service calls to the department
Monitor reasons for product repair and provide information to appropriate team members
Provide training as needed and as directed
Work with internal and external teams regarding data relative to product repair
Communicate with and provide support for external repair centers
Properly document returns, including warranty status, parts used, and overall repair summary
Monitor returns for trends and issues and inform appropriate team members
Participate in production improvement initiatives
Maintain a clean and safe work area. Follow established safety and ergonomic standards
May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed
Learning, understanding, continuously improving, and promoting the divisions’ quality management system in accordance with ISO standards

Required

High school diploma or equivalent education
Minimum 2 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred

Ability to read schematics and blueprints
Strong knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical systems
Ability to use various hand tools and electronic test equipment
Proficiency with a computer
Team player who is self-motivated and has the ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to work at a fast pace efficiently
Well-developed problem solving analysis and problem solving techniques
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff
