Part-time bookkeeper
The de la Garza Law Group is a boutique trial firm dedicated to seeking justice for victims of negligence and serious personal injuries. They are currently seeking a Part Time Bookkeeper to manage financial record keeping, including entering settlement distributions and reconciling account statements.
Law Practice
Responsibilities
Enter and record settlement distributions to clients, medical providers and other vendors
Prepare, issue and track checks and electronic payments
Reconcile operating, IOLTA, client expense and other accounts monthly in QuickBooks
Maintain accurate general ledger records
Organize and maintain financial files, reports and supporting documents
Assist with monthly and year-end closing tasks
Coordinate with the firm’s CPA and management as needed
Identify discrepancies and help resolve accounting issues promptly
Ensure compliance with basic trust accounting and record-keeping requirements
Perform other bookkeeping and administrative accounting tasks as needed to keep the firm’s finances tidy and well organized
Qualification
Required
Proficiency with QuickBooks
Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
Ability to prioritize and multitask
Strong organizational skills
Deadline and detail-oriented
Comfortable working independently and communicating clearly with attorneys and staff
Preferred
2+ years of experience with contingency fee based legal practices strongly preferred
Previous experience in accounting, finance, or other related fields
