Revenue Recognition Specialist / Financial Analyst

Hexagon Asset Lifecycle Intelligence is a global leader in enterprise software, and they are seeking a Revenue Recognition Specialist/Financial Analyst. The role involves performing financial risk assessments, ensuring compliance with revenue recognition standards, and developing policy documentation to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

Perform financial risk assessments for public safety and geospatial contracts, on-premise and SaaS, ensuring compliance with IFRS and US GAAP revenue recognition
Assess fixed-price, T&M, and multiyear contracts. Review contracts across sales cycles—from RFPs to final offers and SOWs. Evaluate pricing, terms, and documents (contracts, pricing matrices, BOMs, ROMs, quotes) to identify risks and ensure consistent revenue treatment
Review quotes and proposals to ensure compliance with corporate standards and authority limits, appropriate pricing, positive cash flows, favorable terms, continuous revenue recognition, and generally protecting the organization’s profitability
Offer financial risk mitigation strategies to sales, bids and proposals, project accounting, and FP&A, advising on Statement of Work assumptions, payment milestones, and acceptance criteria. Leverage detailed pricing analyses to support negotiations and ensure financially sound customer agreements
Drive strategic and ad hoc reporting on topics such as recurring revenue, cost trends, discount structures, system discrepancies, cloud expenses, payment milestones, and customer rates. Analyze unbilled revenue, software financing, and product metrics like project materiality, SSP, escalations, credits, and financial risks. Provide insights to support decisions and new initiatives
Be experienced in, or willing to learn IFRS and GAAP revenue recognition standards to be able to document policy updates, identify and justify revenue recognition methods, provide written explanations and training to sales, etc
Develop and maintain revenue recognition policy documentation, including memos on discount allocations, principal vs. agent roles, and project methodologies for ASC 606 compliance and audit readiness

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong, demonstrated leadership skills
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook and Excel
Ability to work both independently and in a team
Ability to multi-task and handle several priorities simultaneously
Desire to succeed in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
Ability to work in office at least 2 days a week – this is a hybrid position

Preferred

Experience in Salesforce a plus
Experience in software related industry a plus
Experience with or knowledge of software revenue recognition accounting and IFRS a plus
