Desktop Technician

Responsibilities

Provide 1st and 2nd tier technical support to FAIRWINDS crewmembers requiring assistance with IT resources
Install, configure, relocate, and support computers, phones, printers, scanners, A/V equipment, mobile devices, and other end-user technology
Perform on-site setup and breakdown of workstations, equipment, and technology spaces, including mounting, securing, and positioning devices as needed
Support branch openings, renovations, relocations, and special projects that require physical installation, equipment movement, and coordination with facilities and vendors
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues using strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Educate and train end-users on the effective use of client-side IT infrastructure and supported applications
Learn new systems, tools, and technologies to continuously expand technical knowledge and capabilities
Provide after-hours or weekend support as needed for system upgrades, branch projects, and maintenance activities
Participate in an on-call rotation (approximately once every 7 weeks), assisting IT Operations and Infrastructure teams with monitoring critical systems and escalating issues internally or to vendors as necessary

Required

Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience building, deploying, supporting, and troubleshooting computer systems and related peripherals
Experience performing hands-on technical work in office or branch environments, including equipment installation and relocation
Valid driver's license and ability to travel between locations as needed
Familiarity with ticketing systems such as JIRA Service Desk, ServiceNow, or equivalent platforms
Experience working in enterprise environments with system imaging and configuration management tools such as Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM), Intune, Active Directory, or Azure AD/Entra ID
Strong working knowledge of desktop hardware, peripherals, and end-user devices
Required to obtain CompTIA A+ certification within one year of employment

Preferred

Experience supporting audio/visual equipment
macOS and iOS experience is a plus
CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft 365 certification preferred
