Responsibilities

Manage your own caseload with full responsibility for case strategy and execution

Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses, corporate representatives, and medical experts

Appear in court to argue substantive motions and manage hearing schedules across multiple jurisdictions

Participate as first or second chair in jury trials involving complex medical evidence and corporate liability theories

Analyze electronic medical records to identify patterns of neglect

Review staffing data and payroll records to establish systemic understaffing

Interpret Medicare/Medicaid cost reports to trace financial priorities

Develop discovery strategies for corporate structures designed to limit liability

Draft and argue dispositive motions

Work with medical and industry experts and develop trial themes that connect corporate decisions to resident outcomes

Participate in voir dire, opening statements, direct and cross examinations, and closing arguments

Gain experience in case valuation, settlement negotiation, and mediation advocacy
