Brookfield Renewable U.S. is seeking a highly motivated Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Intern to join their team at TerraForm Power. The GIS Intern will support the Greenfield Development Team in identifying and securing real estate opportunities for solar development projects, while gaining valuable experience in the renewable energy industry.

Responsibilities

Provide support to related GIS and spatial data analysis through coordination with various stakeholders across the organization
Support spatial data maintenance and update processes
Conduct market research to support Greenfield Development decisions
Assist in the preparation of presentations for senior management
Identify trends, advise company and recommend actions to the Director, Land Origination based on sound analysis
Gain experience using ArcGIS software to create mapping products for new leads and existing projects
Scrub geospatial and tabular parcel data for accuracy and completeness
Prepare external materials and site maps, with excellent attention to detail
Assist with reviewing and analyzing geospatial datasets, editing data, digitizing, or creating features, as needed
Assist with updating internal geospatial databases
Maintain siting folders and project files to keep siting exercises organized and cataloged
Assist with updating other geospatial datasets, as needed
Perform other duties, as assigned

Required

Demonstrated experience in ArcGIS software is required

Enrolment in a bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field is preferred
