IT Solutions Architect
General Dynamics Electric Boat, the world’s foremost designer and builder of nuclear submarines, is seeking an IT Solutions Architect to join the organization within the Information Technology Department. This role primarily supports new submarine programs and requires an enterprise mindset with extensive experience in business, information systems, and technology architecture domains.

Responsibilities
Work with architecture peers to analyze business strategy and requirements to derive the future state architecture. This includes defining the requirements, principles and models that guide the decisions at both the project and enterprise level
Stay abreast of technology trends and the practical application of technology
Analyze current state architectures to identify gaps and deficiencies and develop approaches to address them
Review proposed solutions, balancing the long term strategic with the short term tactical goals
Perform functional and technical design reviews for completeness and compliance with requirements and standards
Learning new technologies and products
Collaborate with business constituents, architecture team members, project teams and solution providers to fulfill these responsibilities
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 5+ years of proven IT project experience where business outcomes such as cost reduction, risk reduction, or efficiency gains were achieved
Preferred
IT Project related experience
Understanding of multiple software development life-cycles methodologies, e.g., waterfall, agile
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong leadership skills
Possess blend of technical and analytical skills
Strong problem-solving skills
