Receives patient samples into the laboratory for testing and reviews laboratory orders and samples for acceptability

Ensures that the correct laboratory test are ordered and placed into the laboratory information system, ensuring required information is entered

Handles and prepares samples for clinical testing and delivers to correct laboratory department

Performs routine and complex laboratory procedures with accuracy and precision, following standard procedures and recognizes deviation from expected results

Operates a variety of laboratory equipment

Performs and documents routine instrument maintenance and quality control for department

Recognizes factors that affect measurements and results and takes appropriate action

Compiles, tabulates, and reports laboratory data analysis

Adheres to internal controls established for department

Adheres to all safety protocols in laboratory area

Perform a variety of technical procedures involved in the procurement, processing and evaluation of patient specimens for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease

Perform routine clerical and technical procedures including specimen collection

Clinical specimen preparation and processing for analysis and dispatch

Patient registration and order entry

Receive patient samples into the laboratory for testing and review laboratory orders and samples for acceptability
