New Jersey Courts is seeking a well-organized and detail-oriented individual to support the Assignment Judge. The role involves managing judicial workflow, scheduling court events, and maintaining accurate records while providing quality customer service to court users.

Responsibilities
Conforming judge's orders and decisions and maintaining the workflow in/out of judicial chambers
Proofreading typed material for accuracy and correct punctuation, spelling, and grammar
Scheduling and calendaring court and Administrative Office of the Courts events, such as case management conferences, settlement conferences, committee and administrative meetings, and other matters
Coordinating and communicating the judge's schedule with vicinage and division administration and case management personnel
Preparing and submitting local and state reports
Managing incoming and outgoing communications, including mail, telephone calls, case conference calls, and follow-up of same; and procuring supplies, equipment, and inventory for chambers
Possessing strong computer skills needed for information processing using Judiciary-wide computer systems, which will include data entry into a division's mainframe system, preparing documents such as orders and judgments, moderating virtual court events, and formatting and typing judicial opinions and other legal documents
Composing routine correspondence, such as form letters or standard replies to inquiries, preparation of bench reports
Composing non-routine correspondence; and any additional duties as required and assigned
Recording, storing, updating, and preparing documents, files, and materials for scanning or retrieval, ensuring accurate and organized recordkeeping through established tracking systems
Filing records, reports, forms, letters, and other documents, including confidential documents
Providing information to judges, attorneys, community organizations, and Administrative Office of the Courts staff as directed
Maintaining and updating accurate digital records, files, or logs as required
Delivering quality customer service to both internal and external court users
Qualification
Required
Four (4) years of experience in an office environment performing a variety of clerical and support services to include keyboarding and two or more of the following: document or information processing, transcribing information, reconciling balances or accounts, scheduling meetings or appointments
Successful completion of a clerical training program with a minimum of 700 classroom training hours or 30 semester hour credits in secretarial science may be substituted for one (1) year of experience indicated above. Course work must include typing skills, methods, and procedures; other courses may include, but are not limited to, office procedures, word processing, and business English
Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position
Preferred
Knowledge of legal terminology and working knowledge of Microsoft Office is helpful
