Hitchiner Manufacturing is a leading supplier of investment castings and subassemblies. They are seeking a Master Tool Maker to support manufacturing production by servicing, repairing, and fabricating tooling used in the investment casting process.

Responsibilities
Studies and interprets supplied specifications such as casting drawings, sketches, tool work orders, models/castings, and/or other information from Engineering or other stake holders to determine materials, machine tools, and methodology necessary to satisfy the tooling issue at hand
Performs any dimensional inspection, preliminary design, disassembly, assembly, cleaning as needed to determine source (s) of tooling issues, establish scope of work and make estimations of time required to complete the job
Basic sets up, programs, operates machine tools such as, but not limited to, lathes, milling machines, grinders, and band saws as required to complete specified actions relative to the tooling in question
Uses hand tools to grind, file, polish and validate using measuring devices
Clean dies, trouble shoot issues at the wax press supporting production, move tooling to storage
Assist Tooling Coordinator in receiving and inspecting new tooling, cataloguing and ensuring markings are correct
Capable of connecting any wiring or hydraulics and pneumatics as required
Provides feedback and makes recommendations as to design, set up, and operational modifications necessary to increase longevity or effectiveness of tooling encountered
Must purchase and maintain tools of the trade as required by the job and ensure calibration is current
Must follow all safety requirements of job as outlined on the job safety card
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Complete all paperwork associated with the job. Correctly maintain all forms and instruction sheets
Maintain a clean and orderly working environment
Inform your supervisor about problems that occur
May be required to handle hazardous waste by collecting and transferring the waste into proper containers at satellite storage areas or storage areas and assuring that the containers are properly inspected, labeled, and closed as required. Must follow correct instruction for handling hazardous waste and report any deviations to supervisor immediately. Must attend yearly instruction in hazardous waste handling and review of current procedures if job duties could affect non-compliance
Qualification
Required
A minimum of 3 years of machine shop experience or related wax die set up, die cleaning, troubleshooting is required
Knowledge of wax injection tooling and press parameters would be advantageous
Work will be performed under the guidance of the department supervisor and or designated trainer
The Technician C must so be cross-training to meet the requirements of the 'B' level classification including working towards Associate Degree
Computer skills required in Excel, Word, Access, with CAD Solid Works being a plus
Requires sufficient strength and physical dexterity to frequently lift up to 50 lbs
Must have a vision requirement of 20/30, near correctable
A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
