Responsibilities

Perform entry-level professional engineering work involving the application of standard techniques, procedures, and design criteria in carrying out routine engineering tasks through effective mentorship
Work within the Highway group on the design of civil engineering projects, including local roadways, rural and urban highways, and freeways
Collaborate with design teams consisting of multidisciplinary design engineers and technicians
Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member and assist with tasks , including preparing engineering-related calculations, drawings, and visual aids
Assist Project Team by providing engineering design support (engineering reports, design calculations, quantity and cost estimates) for roadway, hydraulics, and civil engineering design projects
Builds analytic and design skills
Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer
Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer
Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer
Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems
Performs work in accordance with the agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision

Required

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field

Preferred

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) preferred
AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroStation, GeoPak, InRoads, OpenRoads, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS experience
Experience designing highway/roadway and storm drainage systems preferred
Experience in designing traffic signal installations
