Longleaf Forester
The Longleaf Alliance is seeking an experienced Longleaf Forester to advance longleaf pine restoration. This role involves providing science-based assistance, supporting landowner programs, and leading educational workshops and events related to longleaf pine ecology and management.

Responsibilities
Providing timely and science-based responses to requests for assistance through a variety of methods, including phone, email, question line or site visit
Supporting landowner incentive programs, and in the delivery of the Longleaf Academy program, taking the lead where assigned on Academies, or providing high quality instruction in a supporting role
Developing and leading workshops and field days as components of numerous grants; these may occur across the nine-state range as opportunities to collaborate arise
Training outreach is also done through brochures, flyers, webinars, and articles for publication in The Longleaf Leader or other publications
Demonstrating presentation skills and leadership through a variety of Longleaf Alliance events, including the Biennial Longleaf Conferences
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree in forestry
At least four years of experience in the management and restoration of longleaf pine
Demonstrate a strong passion for the longleaf ecosystem
Knowledge and experience in longleaf ecology, forest management, and conservation education
Proven ability to build effective relationships with partners, agencies, landowners, and donors
Initiative, strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Preferred
An advanced degree in a compatible field is desired
Preference will be given to a registered/certified forester
