Engineering Support Specialist II

Responsibilities

As an Engineering Support Specialist II, you will serve as the subject matter expert on the mechanical assembly integration for the FAL
You will support production by training manufacturing associates on minor mechanical repairs
You will assist with solving anomalies on the manufacturing line, under the authority of Mechanical engineer
You will support continuous improvement activities for the final assembly line
You will support the development of comprehensive training on mechanical and assembly related topics for the FAL
Provide support to the various assembly stations in the FAL
Develop comprehensive familiarity and expertise with manufacturing processes, bus configurations and manufacturing process requirements (i.e. work instructions, non-conformances, rework procedures, etc.) on all the stations within the FAL
Coordinate with Quality, Configuration Management and Design Engineering for implementation of design, process changes and for non-conformance management (with the support of the mechanical engineers)
Review the "mechanical results" of the bus during the production phase
Support the production line and propose repairs while maintaining management of anomalies
Apply analytical engineering principles and support while solving difficult technical/quality problems or issues with raw materials, manufacturing processes and/or quality of product lines
Reporting to the Engineering Support Manager
Other duties as assigned
Employee will be expected to support occasional shift and overtime work, as needed to support the mission

Required

Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technical, Engineering, Math) or related scientific areas or combination of education and experience
Minimum of 5+ years of prior relevant experience
Experience working with assembly and integration
Attention to detail and great multitasking ability
Ability to read work instructions and perform electrical and mechanical assembly, integration, and test activities
Understanding of document, hardware, and software configuration control and management processes
Previous experience in the aerospace or avionics industry
Previous experience with handling, manufacturing, and test of flight hardware in clean room environments
Proficiency with MS Office applications
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Work well in a team setting and maintain good communication skills
Excellent listening, comprehension & interpersonal skills as responsible for daily communication via email and phone calls required
Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication (verbal/writing), and presentation skills
US citizenship is required
Ability to obtain and maintain a Government security clearance

Preferred

Manufacturing experience highly desirable
Active DoD security clearance at Secret or above highly desirable
