Sr Business Analyst

The Sr. Business Analyst role focuses on identifying and documenting business requirements for application initiatives, facilitating communication between business users and technical teams, and managing project scopes and deliverables.

Responsibilities
Demonstrates a solid understanding of work initiatives, leads work effort, may direct others to elicit and understand business processes and requirements
Demonstrate advanced skills required to effectively facilitate requirement gathering meetings, obtains and documents Business, User, Functional, and Non-Functional Requirements
Partnering with business users and act as a liaison between business and technical teams
Drives delivery of requirements within an Agile/Scrum framework
Work with the business and technical teams to understand complex workflows and business needs
Understands the business drivers behind the applications and any new requirements; uses that understanding to create effective solutions for the business
Creates, manages, and owns a feature backlog
Works with the Development team to groom stories and refine the backlog
Translates business needs into technical solutions and corresponding business requirements in the form of User Stories; Confirms delivery of User Stories meet the business need
Creates User Stories based on the INVEST model along with Acceptance Criteria, supporting documents, flows and wireframes
Creates and updates documentation of system data flows and functionality
Querying data sources and performing analysis in support of requirements and problem resolution
Supports QA and UAT processes: reviews test conditions to ensure proper coverage, participates in QA and UAT defect review and resolution
Works with the project team to ensure requirements are accurate, clear, and understood
Meets with business and technical teams to discuss functional design concepts
Produces professional quality work products such as process flows, use cases, screen mockups, business requirements and functional specifications
Demonstrates the ability to learn new techniques and adapts to using the tools aligned with the organization, i.e., Kaizen Tools
Helps define acceptance test objectives. Assists in system and integration testing
Assists in evaluating software change requests, determine business need or conduct root cause analysis
Acts as Project Manager for small and medium sized projects:
Defines scope, creates and manages delivery plan, manages issues, provides project communications and manages sponsors’ expectations
Builds and maintains strong relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects. Owns stakeholder management; responsible for setting customer expectations and leading efforts to sustain customer satisfaction
Facilitates the definition of project scope, objectives, and success metrics in collaboration with senior management, involving all relevant stakeholders
Develops and presents full-scale project plans and associated communications documents; manages, monitors, and tracks progress throughout the project
Facilitates the estimation and allocation of resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts within the project team; escalates issues to the appropriate level in order to achieve resolution when required
Qualification
Required
5 years of Business Analyst experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor's Degree from four-year College or University and 5 or more years of related experience
Knowledge of the healthcare industry is a plus
Must understand and follow the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
Must understand and have hands on practical experience working in a Scrum environment
Take accountability and ownership of things you do not have 100% ownership of in your space
Demonstrated experience as a highly motivated technical professional
Demonstrated experience in collaborating with business and technical teams to understand requirements, impact analysis
Team player that works wells with individuals & thrives in a complex, global organization
Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, influencing, prioritization, decision-making and conflict resolution skill
Communicate effectively (verbally and written) and problem solve with various partners, vendors, offshore development teams and internal groups
Experience with System Development Lifecycle methodologies (SDLC)
Prior experience and familiarity with interfacing with QA and application and production support
Familiarity with multiple software development disciplines
Experience documenting detailed requirements, design documents, and workflows
Ability to verify integrity of all application changes
Ability to prioritize and evaluate cost and benefits to drive value
Demonstrates advanced skills, and is recognized as a leader by peers and throughout the organization
Demonstrates strong work ethics, a commitment to excellence and is a positive influence on others
Quickly understand business processes and the underlying business need filled by the process
Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate with all levels of management and team members
