Responsibilities

Design, implement, and continuously evolve core people programs, including performance reviews, onboarding, manager development, learning & development, and employee relations practices
Partner with leaders to translate business goals into a scalable HR roadmap that supports rapid growth
Use people data and insights to inform decisions, identify risks and opportunities, and improve employee performance, engagement, and retention
Build and sustain a strong company culture by embedding Atomic Machines’ principles into all people programs and practices
Lead and resolve complex employee relations matters, conducting thorough, fair, and objective investigations, partnering with our external legal firm as needed
Own and optimize HR systems, regularly assessing effectiveness and ensuring we maximize their value as we scale
Maintain deep knowledge of California employment laws and best practices, mitigating risk and ensuring compliance; partner with external legal counsel as needed
Lead the design and delivery of management and leadership development programs, leveraging AI-enabled tools, learning platforms, and data-driven insights to scale high-quality training and support leaders as the organization grows

Required

5 - 10 years of progressive HR Business Partner or HR leadership experience, ideally within a fast-growing, technical startup environment; hardware experience is a plus
A strong passion for people - paired with the ability to balance empathy, business needs, and sound judgment
Proven experience designing, launching, and scaling people programs in dynamic organizations
A data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency in using metrics and insights to guide decisions
A demonstrated ability to maintain a strong “pulse” on employee engagement, culture, and organizational health
Deep understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging principles and how to apply them in practice
Strong working knowledge of California employment laws and people practices relevant to startup environments
Excellent communication and influencing skills, including experience partnering with and presenting to senior leaders
High discretion, sound judgment, and a strong ethical foundation
Comfort navigating ambiguity, change, and competing priorities in a rapidly evolving environment
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to execute with rigor under pressure
Ability to work from our Emeryville or Santa Clara office at least three days per week (daily preferred)
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field
