The Antifreeze Research and Development Intern will complete a 12-week internship focused on formulation blending, testing, and data analysis at the Lexington headquarters.

Responsibilities
Following Valvoline RC 14001 rules to perform job safely
Demonstrate a strong commitment to laboratory safety, including proper use of PPE, safe chemical handling, and adherence to OSHA/EPA regulations
Getting familiar with our VLIMS system to collect and record data
Making formulation blends and collecting data on the blends and/or tests performed on the blends
Performing bench top testing as needed for antifreeze blends
Performing data analysis and communication with formulators and scientists
Familiarity with acid and bases and standard chemical reactions
Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a Chemistry, Biology, or Engineering college program
Good teamwork mentality
Good communication skills
Good computer knowledge in Microsoft Office applications
Ability to work independently with guidance and collaborate within a team setting
The ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 40lbs
Basic knowledge of PPE and lab safety protocols
Working in a laboratory environment with adherence to safety protocols, including use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)/ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Must be authorized to work in the U.S
