Repair Tooling Design Leader
GE Aerospace is a leader in the aerospace industry, seeking a Repair Tooling Design Leader to oversee the design and support of repair special inspection tooling for engine components. This role involves technical leadership in design, analysis, and process improvement, while ensuring adherence to business standards and requirements.

Responsibilities
Execute the design, analysis, and/or evaluation of assigned repair special tooling using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical engineering for products
Develop or expand upon in-depth knowledge of repair of engine components. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy
In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area
Uses experience to make judgments and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve more challenging tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions
Developing and improving upon repair special tooling processes and requirements
Knowing customer requirements and CTQs
Monitoring schedule, cost, and quality of design deliverables
Supporting manufacturers through builds
Validating and troubleshooting equipment on the shop floor
Working special projects to improve design processes and quality
Occasional travel to support tooling validations or issues
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of mechanical or manufacturing engineering experience)
Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing or repair-related processes experience
Preferred
Proficient in design, test and analysis tools and systems
Proficient in Stress analysis / stack-up
Experience in the design of repair special tooling
Experience in aerospace component repair manufacturing processes
Manufacturing processes understanding/experience
Experience in use of machine workholding of engine hardware from piece parts to complex assemblies
Experience in use of repair processes including Flame, Arc, Plasma Spray, HVOF, HVAF, Chem clean, FPI, NDT, surface treatment, thermal spray, paint, machining, composites, welding, additive, etc
Demonstrated ability to coordinate numerous projects simultaneously
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
Established project management skills
PC proficiency
