Responsibilities

Perform laboratory experiments using molecular biology techniques (e.g., nucleic acid extraction, PCR, NGS library preparation)
Generate high-quality sequencing data
Utilize AI-driven tools and bioinformatics software to analyze sequencing datasets
Assist in developing and optimizing analysis workflows for genomics projects
Collaborate with scientists and computational biologists to integrate experimental and analytical processes
Maintain an electronic record of all experiments and resulting data
Present findings in team meetings and contribute to protocol development

Required

Available for on-site full-time employment (40 hrs/week) throughout 6-month program period
Completed 2+ years of a relevant life science undergraduate degree or be enrolled in a relevant graduate level degree program that approves a co-op experience at BMS
Prior relevant research experience required, preferably with basic understanding of genomics and molecular biology techniques
Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis and visualization
Possess a high level of critical thinking, high energy, independence, a strong desire to learn new techniques, and the ability to work in a highly dynamic research organization
Able to commit to continuous full-time employment from July to December
Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills
All candidates must be authorized to work in the US both at the time of hire and for the duration of their employment

Preferred

Interest in applying AI/ML approaches to biological data is a plus
