Responsibilities
Work with advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts on complex network and system problems
Provide innovative solutions to challenging technical issues
Implement, configure, and manage SMARTS and Broadcom NetOps monitoring tools
Script and automate processes using Python and Perl
Program and support Java enterprise (J2EE) environments (JSF 2, EJB 3, Java-based Ajax)
Administer and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems (versions 7 & 8)
Apply strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols and network performance management
Use version control tools such as Git or Bitbucket for code management
Create operational and technical documentation using best practices
Develop and maintain project plans (MS Project) and network diagrams (MS Visio)
Participate in daily scrums and project meetings, providing regular updates
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
5-7 years' experience with Python or Perl scripting
5+ years' experience as a Network Engineer, focused on network performance management
5+ years' experience with SMARTS enterprise network monitoring, including at least 3 years in implementation/configuration
4 years' experience with RHEL (v7/v8)
Experience in Broadcom NetOps and Broadcom Service Assurance tools
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Must be able to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance
Preferred
Advanced skills in Perl, Python, and Java programming
JBoss EAP development experience
MySQL database management
ServiceNow development experience
VMware administration experience
Federal government project experience
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt in a dynamic environment
Experience developing best-practice scripts, documentation, and project plans
