IT Helpdesk Technician
Tredyffrin/Easttown School District is seeking an IT Helpdesk Technician to support and maintain all components of the District network. The role involves troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring the security of the network, and managing various IT projects.

Responsibilities
Support and maintain all components of the District network including the structured cabling system, attached workstations, mobile devices, peripheral devices, telecommunication devices, and security cameras
As a member of the district Helpdesk team, troubleshoot hardware, software, network, telecommunication and video issues throughout the school district
Apply District policies and controls to ensure security of the network, legal compliance with software licenses, and copyright laws
Test all hardware or software before it is deployed to ensure compatibility with the existing network and operating systems
Follow established procedures for maintaining documentation and inventory of networked computers, printers, system software, and standardized application software licenses
Troubleshoot and resolve problems associated with the use of the network and district devices
Complete appropriate equipment repairs in an efficient and courteous manner
Relocate/move, set up and install new computer systems, devices, software, and telecommunications equipment throughout the district
Work effectively with users on all levels, communicating clearly, and maintaining a strong work ethic
Manage simultaneous projects and react spontaneously to critical trouble-shooting situations
Accept additional duties or responsibilities as assigned
Consult with members of the Information Technology Department to promptly resolve interruptions of any network services or equipment failure
Maintain an excellent working relationship with the members of the Information Technology Department
Stay current on new technologies and software applications that may have significant value to the District
Qualification
Required
Technical school/college with a degree in computers
At least three years of hands-on experience in a technical support position and one year in a network environment, working extensively with hardware
Ability to work with network cabling and connections, including installing/removing peripherals, cards, and other devices
Extensive hardware/software troubleshooting skills and ability to perform repairs
Strong knowledge of personal computers, mobile devices, telecommunications devices, and security camera systems
Experience using a variety of operating systems
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet, virus protections, and email applications
Ability to deal with frequent interruptions
Physical capacity to move/relocate computers and peripherals
Works effectively with users, communicating clearly and maintaining a strong work ethic
Handles simultaneous projects and reacts spontaneously to critical trouble-shooting situations
Tact, patience, poise, and positive attitude in handling job responsibilities
Ability to impart knowledge and confidence to students and staff who may be unfamiliar with new technologies
