Carnegie Mellon University’s department of Facilities Management and Campus Services is searching for a Production Center Assistant to join their Tartan Ink team. The role involves providing support in the university’s copy and print center, assisting customers, and handling various copying and binding services.

Responsibilities

Ability to properly operate a wide variety of copying and bindery equipment; able to interact and communicate well with the campus customers
Receives, reviews and personally processes requests for copier job requests/orders. Plans daily work assignments based on current workload, customer requirements, machine capabilities, etc. Delivery and pick up of work on campus as needed. Contacts and engages outside service providers as needed
Reviews requests with customers; makes suggestions regarding paper, binding, options, etc.; checks finished work to make certain that customer requirements are being met
Troubleshoots problems and questions, such as delivery dates or times, billing charges, partial orders, etc.; answers most questions or corrects most problems directly. Refers only the most difficult issues to supervisor
Works with the Convenience Copier Technician to perform monthly meter reads on copiers across campus and enters the data into the Maximo Program
Answers service calls on copiers across campus, including clearing jams, adding toner and staples, etc

Required

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required

Walking and standing, bending and lifting are occasionally required, including travel to and work at various locations on campus
Occasional weekend or evening hours may be required
A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered
