Responsibilities

Provide Tier 3 support for firewall incidents, changes, and problem resolution across enterprise environments
Manage, configure, and troubleshoot firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA/FTD, Check Point)
Analyze complex network traffic and security events to detect and resolve issues
Lead root cause analysis for major firewall-related incidents
Maintain and audit firewall rulebases and policies to ensure compliance with security standards
Create and maintain documentation for firewall operations and procedures
Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams for firewall deployments and upgrades
Develop and maintain automation scripts (Python, Ansible, etc.) to streamline repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency
Integrate firewall management into CI/CD or SOAR pipelines where applicable
Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical incidents off-hours as needed

Required

5+ years of hands-on experience in firewall operations and network security
Expert-level knowledge of firewall platforms such as Palo Alto Networks, Cisco ASA/FTD, or Checkpoint
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, NAT, VPNs, and security policies
Strong understanding of routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP
Proficiency in automation/scripting (Python, Ansible, Bash, or similar)
Experience with centralized management systems (Panorama, Cisco FMC, and Checkpoint Domain Manager)
