Senior Data Engineer

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable data pipelines using AWS services such as S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, EMR, and Athena
Architect and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and storage solutions for both batch and real-time data processing
Lead the development of data models and schemas that support analytics, reporting, and machine learning use cases
Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance through monitoring, alerting, and automated validation frameworks
Optimize cost and performance of AWS data solutions through efficient resource usage and tuning
Collaborate with other data engineers, analysts, and product teams to translate business requirements into technical data solutions
Establish and enforce best practices for data governance, security, and compliance, including IAM, encryption, and access controls
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level data engineers
Participate in architectural and code reviews, technical decision-making, and long-term data platform strategy

Required

Bachelor's degree in related field Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Minimum of 5+ years of experience building and maintaining production data pipelines, with at least 2–3 years of hands-on experience using AWS data services (e.g., S3, Glue, Redshift, EMR, Athena, Lambda, Kinesis) and how to architect them together
Strong programming skills in Python SQL, and/or Spark, with experience building production-grade data pipeline
Data modeling expertise for analytical and operational use cases (star/snowflake schemas, dimensional modeling)
Experience with batch and streaming data processing frameworks
Ability to design scalable, fault-tolerant, and cost-efficient data architectures
Strong understanding of distributed systems, data partitioning, and performance tuning
Expertise in data quality, observability, and reliability practices
Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices
Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills across data pipelines and cloud infrastructure
Demonstrates key competencies to include managing complexity, valuing differences, and cultivating innovation
