Responsibilities
Perform field surveys using total stations, GPS, and laser scanning equipment
Measure and document existing conditions and post-construction improvements (as-builts)
Lay out proposed construction features, including lines, grades, and elevations
Sign off on as-built and quantity surveys
Lead and support a small team of 1–2 grade checkers
Conduct stake-out activities in accordance with contract documents
Process and analyze survey data using Trimble software and hardware
Ensure survey accuracy through thorough checks and validations
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, consultants, and clients to resolve survey-related issues
Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe jobsite environment
Qualification
Required
Active Florida Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) license in Florida
Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field
5+ years of surveying experience
Proficiency with Trimble surveying equipment and software
Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to work independently and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Knowledge of applicable surveying laws, standards, and regulations
Preferred
USACE and/or South Florida Water Management District experience
Ability to obtain USACE CQM-C certification within 6 months of hire
