Vance County is seeking an Aviation Mechanic for their Sheriff's Office. The role involves maintaining aircraft in accordance with federal regulations, conducting inspections, and performing maintenance troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

A&P Mechanic: An A&P certified mechanic is responsible for ensuring the aircraft are maintained in accordance with applicable Maintenance Manuals, Federal Aviation Regulations, Service Bulletins, & Airworthiness Directives
Have thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Safety Regulations (both Federal and State), and current Industry Standards
Perform Scheduled/Unscheduled Inspections, Repair, & Troubleshooting on Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Drivetrain, Electrical & Structures systems
Ordering appropriate aircraft parts and consumables while maintaining current inventory
Ensuring replacement parts are airworthy prior to installation according to manufacturer documents and have correct FAA airworthiness paperwork
Inspection Authorization: An IA may inspect and approve for return to service any aircraft or related part or appliance after a major repair or major alteration
Also, the holder of an IA may perform an annual inspection and he or she may supervise or perform a progressive inspection
Pilot: Perform Maintenance troubleshooting and Return to Service ground-runs and flights according to applicable aircraft ratings
As necessary perform functions of a Tactical Flight Officer during Helicopter Operations
Additional Duties: Keep the Hangar maintained by regular cleaning and performing appropriate facility maintenance
Perform Maintenance on aircraft Ground Support Equipment Perform grounds keeping as necessary
Provide assistance to SWAT Dept. by assisting with MRAP Maintenance as needed
Other Job Functions: Performs other job related duties as directed

Required

High School diploma or GED
A&P Mechanic certification
Applicable Pilot's Certificate
FAA Airframe and Power Plant certificate
FAA inspection authorization
Valid Texas Drivers License
Thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations
Knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance Manuals
Knowledge of Safety Regulations (both Federal and State)
Knowledge of current Industry Standards
