CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental Team in Blacksburg, VA. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in environmental projects, assisting with documentation, fieldwork, and regulatory evaluations.

Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation of environmental documentation, mitigation plans, reporting, and permits for a variety of clients
Conduct field work, including field investigations, sampling, drilling oversight, and construction operation assistance
Collect, analyze, and report on geological, hydrological, biological, or other scientific conditions at project sites
Provide support to senior scientists and/or engineers to evaluate the potential impact of federal, state, and local environmental regulations

Required

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn about the respective scientific discipline
Strong ability to work in a team environment with effective verbal and written communication skills
Valid driver's license
Ability to work in the field under various weather conditions and physically navigate diverse environments

Preferred

Prior internship(s) and/or applicable coursework
Experience with ArcMap or basic GIS Mapping
