Unity Health is seeking a Surgical Tech Certified to join their operating room team. The role requires a thorough knowledge of sterilization and disinfection, and involves assisting physicians during surgical procedures while maintaining high levels of concentration and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Presents a professional appearance and exemplifies hospital standards of honesty and ethical behavior

Anticipates the next step of the procedure and prepares equipment for delivery or passes instruments in the correct spatial position

Assists the physician in performance of the procedure by accurately handing instruments during surgeries

Assists in cleaning duties and prepares cases for the following day utilizing physician preference cards

Assists the CPD technician in the central processing department as needed

Assists the circulating nurse in transportation of the patient and/or preparation of the patient or operating room

Participates in the OR call schedule as needed

Ability to work irregular hours

Qualification

Surgical Technician CertificationOperating Room ExperienceCPR CertificationSterilizationProfessional Appearance

Required

High School Diploma or equivalency

Graduate of an operating room technician, surgical technician or surgical technologist program in a Certified School of Operating Room Technology required

Certification as an OR Technician required

One year experience surgical assisting in the operating room

Presents a professional appearance and exemplifies hospital standards of honesty and ethical behavior

Ability to stand for long hours and lift 15-30 lbs

Ability to work irregular hours

Preferred

One year experience surgical assisting in the operating room preferred

CPR certification preferred
