Business Development Manager - Northwest
The Fi Company is a manufacturing firm focused on industrial plastics. The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving new customer acquisition and revenue growth within the Northwest region, primarily through territory planning, prospecting, and closing new business opportunities.

Responsibilities
Own territory planning, prospecting strategy, and pipeline development for the Northwest region
Identify, pursue, and close new customer opportunities aligned with Seattle’s core manufacturing capabilities
Develop and execute a disciplined sales process
Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify industry trends, customer needs, and growth opportunities
Attend industry trade shows, networking events, and customer meetings to generate leads and build relationships
Identify and engage key decision-makers within procurement, engineering, quality, and operations teams
Lead and participate in the RFQ process, ensuring timely, accurate, and competitive responses
Collaborate with Program Management, NPI teams, Operations, and Finance to successfully launch new customer programs
Provide pricing input and margin analysis in coordination with Sales leadership and executive management
Develop accurate sales forecasts by opportunity, including scope, timelines, and expected revenue
Lead customer inputs for end‑to‑end product lifecycle processes—from concept and design through development, launch, maintenance, and end‑of‑life—to ensure alignment with business objectives
Maintain accurate CRM records, sales reports, forecasts, and activity documentation
Travel within the region to support sales efforts
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5 years of outside B2B industrial sales experience, preferably in consultative or technical manufacturing sales
Demonstrated success opening new accounts and growing revenue within an assigned territory
Existing relationships with decision-makers and influencers in target customer segments is a strong plus
Experience interpreting customer drawings, CAD files, or technical specifications
Proven hunter mentality with strong prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills
Ability to sell complex, value-based manufacturing solutions to executive-level stakeholders
Strong business acumen with the ability to evaluate risk, pricing, and margin considerations
Highly organized, self-directed, and capable of managing multiple opportunities simultaneously
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally across operations, engineering, and finance
Ability to evaluate engineering data sets (drawings, CAD models, BOMs) for effective assessment of opportunities
Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
This role requires travel within the assigned territory
The position involves regular use of computers, phones, and presentation tools, as well as time spent in office, customer, and manufacturing environments
Preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred (Engineering, Business Administration, or related field)
Background selling solutions involving plastic molding, precision sheet metal, or related manufacturing processes preferred
Familiarity with ERP systems and sales reporting tools
