Sr. Structural Analyst

Responsibilities
As an experienced Structural Analyst, you will provide insight in the development, test, and certification of liquid propulsion systems for NASA’s engine development programs at the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC)
You will become part of a multi-discipline team with the charter to establish flight rationale for America’s next generation of manned launch vehicles
Primary job duties include engaging with senior engineers to provide insight on liquid engine structural elements and test fixtures, as well as producing independent analytical assessments
In addition, you will develop and deliver reports and presentations, as well as collaborate with vendors and personnel from other NASA centers in the development of integrated flight hardware and associated ground test equipment
There will also be the expectation that you will assist with mentoring of junior engineers
Qualification
Required
A BS degree (MS preferred) in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering, or Engineering Mechanics or related field and a minimum of 15 years of experience is required
Familiarity with one or more major commercial finite element code such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, or NASTRAN
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required
Preferred
Degree from an ABET accredited institution is preferred
Experience in the application of finite element methods, empirical closed-form structural analysis techniques, and the assessment of failure mechanisms is highly desired
