The Receptionist Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the reception team, ensuring an efficient patient experience while performing core reception tasks and collaborating with other teams.

Responsibilities

Answer multi-line phones

Greet patients and vendors

Sign patients in and out while obtaining insurance information and any other necessary patient data

Enter patient data into EHR systems

Schedule patient appointments both on the phone and at checkout desks

Collect outstanding balances and copays

Provide patients with support and guidance as needed

Maintain a safe, secure and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures

Assist the Office Manager in creating the reception team’s weekly schedule

Review provider schedule to utilize override capabilities when appropriate

Address patient concerns, team concerns, and serve as a point of escalation for reception issues that arise

Train new team members and provide coaching for existing team members

Serve as the point of contact for the DOCS billing team

Process returned statements

Develop and implement opportunities to increase efficiency

Spot check reception work and run audits

Review daily deposits and deliver cash deposits to the bank (when applicable)

Interview candidates

Document an file HIPAA/incident reports

Other duties as assigned

Qualification

Required

High School diploma or equivalent certificate

2+ years reception experience (2+ years)

Ability to learn related center tasks and be of assistance to management and physicians

Self-motivated to achieve the highest patient care and customer service standards

Preferred

Prior experience with medical terminology (preferred)
