2026 Summer College Intern - Department of Aviation
City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management is offering a Summer College Internship Program at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. This internship provides students with hands-on experience in various business units that drive airport operations and strategic initiatives, allowing them to gain valuable skills for their future careers.

Responsibilities
Assist with ongoing projects, research, and analysis that contribute to the operational or strategic goals of the assigned department
Work alongside airport professionals, gaining insights into aviation management and business operations
Gather, review, and analyze data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for process improvements
Assist in guest relations, internal/external communications, or public affairs efforts to enhance customer experience
Prepare reports, presentations, spreadsheets, and other documentation as needed to support the assigned business unit
Follow airport security protocols, workplace policies, and departmental guidelines
Attend career-building workshops, industry networking events, and job readiness training sessions
Deliver a formal internship project presentation to airport leadership highlighting key learnings and contributions
Qualification
Required
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, community college, or technical institute
Must have completed at least one year of college before the internship begins
Minimum GPA of 2.50 on a 4.0 scale
Must provide an unofficial transcript within 24 hours of an interview and a certified copy upon hire
Must be registered for Fall 2026 classes
Must be able to pass an FBI fingerprint criminal history records check, and a Security Threat Assessment conducted by the federal government
Must be available for 8 consecutive weeks (May 21, 2026 – July 17, 2026)
Must appear in person for a security background check at ATL at least one month prior to the start date
Preferred
Students from the following disciplines are encouraged to apply: Aviation & Aviation Management, Public Administration, Business Administration (Accounting, Finance, Management, MIS, Real Estate, etc.), Computer Science & Information Technology, Criminal Justice, Engineering (All Disciplines), Environmental Studies, Hospitality Management, Political Science, Marketing, Other Related Fields
