Responsibilities

Manage overall inventory in partnership with buyers and the retail team to support sales, margin, and operational goals
Own the full purchase order (PO) lifecycle, including SKU setup, PO creation, order tracking, and authorization of purchases, in coordination with buyers
Follow established guidelines for SKU setup to ensure consistency and accuracy across systems
Monitor inventory levels and on-order inventory; communicate needs, risks, and opportunities to buyers and the retail team
Receive and check in merchandise accurately and efficiently to support timely flow to the sales floor
Prepare merchandise for the sales floor as needed, and readiness for display in coordination with the retail team
Communicate quickly and proactively with buyers regarding order status, delays, and any challenges impacting delivery or inventory accuracy
Communicate clearly with the retail team regarding inventory availability and expected delivery timelines
Partner with the finance team to ensure charges align with invoices and approved purchase orders
Review, authorize, and reconcile vendor charges; follow up with vendors on discrepancies as needed
Obtain and manage vendor invoices, ship dates, payment terms, and supporting documentation
Support buyers and the retail team with reorders and approved merchandise as directed
Analyze inventory, purchasing, and sales reports to provide buyers, the retail team, and leadership with clear, actionable data
Assist in annual physical inventory and ongoing cycle counts with buyers and the retail team to ensure accuracy
Maintain accurate inventory and purchasing records across systems
Collaborate cross-functionally to support overall store operations
Proactively communicate inventory status, order updates, delays, and potential issues to buyers and the retail team as soon as they are identified
Provide timely responses to buyer, retail, and finance team inquiries to support informed decision-making
Escalate inventory challenges or discrepancies appropriately, offering context and proposed solutions when possible
Maintain clear, professional, and collaborative communication with internal teams and external vendors
Demonstrate emotional intelligence when navigating competing priorities, differing perspectives, and time-sensitive issues

Required

3–5 years of prior retail experience
Inventory management experience required
Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills
Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
High emotional intelligence with the ability to work effectively across teams and roles
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Self-starter with the ability to work independently while collaborating with buyers and retail teams
Team-oriented, flexible, and adaptable to changing priorities
