Machinist IV (1st Shift)

They are seeking a Machinist IV who will independently set up, program, troubleshoot, and operate CNC machine tools to produce complex aerospace components to close tolerances and exacting finish specifications.

Responsibilities

Independently set up, adjust, troubleshoot, and operate CNC machine tools to perform complex progressive machining operations
Execute combinations of milling, boring, turning, drilling, threading, recessing, and screw machine operations within machine and control capabilities
Interpret programming instructions, operational data, and setup documentation, including tool selection, fixturing, material clamping, calibrations, and console settings
Verify parts for conformance to engineering drawings and specifications using appropriate inspection methods
Maintain productivity and quality standards while ensuring adherence to safety and environmental procedures
Troubleshoot machining processes, tooling, and programs to resolve quality or efficiency issues
Make recommendations for process improvements and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Participate in and support 5S activities within the work area
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment; promptly report safety concerns or incidents
Provide technical guidance and informal training to less experienced machinists
Contribute positively to teamwork, internal customer support, and cross-training efforts
Perform other related duties as assigned

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 4 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment
Advanced understanding of CNC machining principles and practices
Ability to select appropriate inspection methods based on a wide range of GD&T callouts
Proficient in shop math and measurement techniques
Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, surface finish, and material properties for standard aerospace materials
Experience setting up and operating live tooling and sub-spindle machines
Ability to perform setups on multi-axis CNC machines within established time standards
Capable of troubleshooting both programming and process-related issues
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Demonstrated leadership by providing technical oversight and mentoring to junior team members
Dependability: Reliable, punctual, and able to execute work accurately with appropriate supervision

Communication: Clearly communicates information and ensures understanding
