Responsibilities
Conduct first piece inspections when requested by manufacturing personnel. This inspection will take place in accordance with Trace-A-Matic’s First Piece Inspection procedures and work instructions
Program and operate the CMM (PC-DMIS) to provide inspection
Interpret CMM output to provide clear evidence of our meeting specifications and/or provide clear direction for the machinist and manufacturing team
Conduct receiving inspection functions in accordance with Trace-A-Matic’s Receiving Inspection procedure and work instructions
Conduct final inspection functions in accordance with Trace-A-Matic’s Final Inspection procedure and work instructions
Audit in-process inspections when directed
Report results of all inspections to machinists and plant supervision. Initiate NCRs for out-of-tolerance conditions
Conduct casting and weldment layout inspections as directed
Create accurate inspection reports as required
Set up inspection gages when requested by machinists
Other duties as needed
Qualification
Required
Strong background in dimensional inspection and machining method
Able to use a variety of hand inspection tools to conduct inspections
Must be able to interpret manufacturing drawings and understands GD&T
Ability to conduct casting and weldment layout inspections is a requirement
Ability to operate and program (PC-DMIS) a CMM
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must
Computer skills are required
This position requires a high school diploma or GED
3 - 5 years of experience in quality inspection required, preferably in a machining or fabrication environment
