Responsibilities
Litigate Employment Disputes – Defend public entities in federal and state courts, drafting briefs for cases involving Title VII and NYSHRL wage and discrimination claims
Advise on Labor Law – Counsel school districts on labor law compliance, ensuring adherence to employment regulations and minimizing risks
Research Precedents – Conduct in-depth research on employment law precedents, supporting appellate wins for municipalities
Build Client Relationships – Strengthen ties with school district clients, expanding the firm’s presence through trusted counsel
Contribute to Publications – Leverage your writing skills to publish in legal journals, enhancing the firm’s thought leadership in education law
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Admission to the New York State Bar
Experience in litigating employment disputes
Knowledge of Title VII and NYSHRL wage and discrimination claims
Ability to advise on labor law compliance
Strong research skills in employment law precedents
Excellent writing skills for legal publications
Ability to build and maintain client relationships
