Contract Specialist, SSC/PK
The United States Space Force (USSF) is looking for a Contract Specialist to support SSC/PK at Los Angeles AFB, El Segundo, CA. This role is crucial for acquiring specialized research and development capabilities for critical space programs, involving contract management and collaboration with skilled contracting professionals.

Responsibilities
Assist in acquisition planning and develop contractual strategies to support specific program elements, ensuring alignment with mission objectives and regulatory requirements
Solicit, analyze, evaluate, and negotiate contractor proposals for contracts
Manage all phases of the contract lifecycle, from solicitation to closeout
Collaborate effectively as an integral member of a team of skilled contracting professionals, contributing your expertise and working towards shared goals
Qualification
Required
Progressively responsible federal government contracting experience is required, with a preference for experience at the systems level
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution is required
Government Contracting Expertise: Basic understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency-specific regulations (e.g., DFARS) is essential
Demonstrated ability to apply contracting principles, policies, and procedures to a wide variety of acquisitions
Excellent written and oral communication skills are critical
Ability to effectively communicate complex information to a variety of audiences, including program managers, technical experts, and contractors
Proficient in the use of standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and electronic contracting systems
Must be a U.S Citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
May be required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise
Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed 'unscheduled telework'
May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis
May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments

Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 20 days per year
Preferred
Experience within the Department of Defense and/or specifically within space systems acquisition is highly desirable
