Quality Inspector

The Quality Inspector role involves inspecting products and monitoring manufacturing processes to ensure quality standards are met, while collaborating with Quality and Operations teams to resolve quality issues efficiently.

Responsibilities
Conduct inspections and evaluations to identify nonconforming material and equipment
Support the nonconforming material system to implement containment and dispositions
Check whether established control plans are adequate and effective in all phases of production
Assist manufacturing operations to quickly identify, contain and permanently resolve quality issues
Perform internal Quality Management System and process audits
Maintain gage checking and calibration systems
Conduct targeted studies of process capability, and gage repeatability/reproducibility
Assist in the improvement of product and service quality by conducting root cause analysis, planning corrective and preventive actions, and verifying the results
Represent the Quality Team as a point of contact for daily production support
Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures
Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions
Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements
Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level
Assist with Operations work cells (Assembly, Fabrication, Machine Shop, Electrical) as needed during work flow schedule constraints
Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job
Qualification
Required

Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and specifications is required

Ability to interpret instructions which may be furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
Work in a safe professional manner, keeping a clean work area and wearing proper protective equipment

Able to work independently to complete individual tasks assigned by a team
Show by example: temperament, professionalism and teamwork
Timely arrival and regular attendance at work
Willing to work overtime as needed to meet project deadlines
Basic level knowledge of MS Word and Excel required, Intermediate level is preferred
Must be able to effectively communicate in written and spoken English
Ability to work demanding hours, as necessary, to meet project deadlines
Must exercise initiative or, as directed, perform additional duties to meet the needs of the organization
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and demanding environment with a strong sense of urgency
Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work in a team environment and work independently
Experience with precision measurement devices and equipment is required
Must be United States citizen, lawful permanent resident or otherwise eligible to work in the United States
Preferred
Basic level knowledge of MS Outlook is preferred
Professional organization involvement is desired, such as American Society for Quality (ASQ) or other related
Associate's degree in Nondestructive Testing (NDT) is preferred
American Society for Quality (ASQ) Quality Technician (CQT) certification is preferred
More than 3 years of experience in a Quality Control or Quality Assurance role preferred
Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial work setting is preferred
Experience with ISO 9001 requirements is preferred
Experience with destructive and nondestructive testing methods is preferred
Experience with lean manufacturing tools (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) preferred
Training as an ISO 9001 auditor is preferred
Working knowledge and proficiency with SPC, gage R&R, and basic quality tools (check sheets, flow charts, control charts, histograms, and scatter diagrams) is preferred
